Akarmara

An abandoned city in Abkhazia. We visited it during our trip in May 2019.

This ghost town is located near the Georgian border. Akarmara is a ghost town with abandoned flats and factories which became uninhabited in the early 1990s due to the War in Abkhazia (1992-93), and is home to just 35 residents today. Now, probably much less.
