“Julia” crystal glassworks in Szklarska Poręba. Opened in 1842, the largest and most modern glassworks in Poland. After the liberation, the glassworks in Szklarska Poręba did not cease production, and from 1956 it operated under a changed name as the “Julia” Crystal Glassworks. The production of the Julia smelter was stopped after the plant was privatized in the early 1990s. Today the historic glassworks is in a state of devastation
