HFB

An abandoned steel plant in Belgium. We visited it during our trip in January 2019.

The Cockerill Sabre’s HRB Hauts-Forneaux B was one of the biggest coking plants in Belgium. Part of group ArcelorMittal Liege.
HFB was built in 1962. The first time blast furnace was stopped in 20089.
It was connected with the economic crisis. In 2010 the blast furnace was restarted. In October 2011 ArcelorMittal took the decision to shut down production in Liege.
