An abandoned railway signal box in Poland. I visited it during trip in March 2021.

This railway signal box was built to control train movements, switches, and signals on a once-busy railway line that played an important role in regional passenger and freight transport. Structures of this type became common across Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries as railway networks expanded and traffic management grew more complex. The signal box served as the operational heart of the station area, ensuring safe train movements through mechanical and later electromechanical systems. Following the modernization of railway infrastructure and the introduction of centralized traffic control, many traditional signal boxes became obsolete and were abandoned, leaving behind valuable relics of railway heritage.
